Medical technology innovation has made significant contributions to our world, namely in the medical industry. With the increased use of electronic medical records (EMR), telehealth services, and mobile technologies like tablets and smart phones, physicians and patients are both seeing the benefits that these new medical technologies are bringing. As technology in the world of healthcare continues to evolve, rules and regulations concerning its use must be established and adjusted to adapt to the new methods of administering care. Regulations like HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Act target the concerns about the confidentiality of patient information and the steps that must be taken to maintain privacy in our digital world.

Love Your Melon began when Zachary Quinn, a business student at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, figured out a warm way to help support children battling cancer: beanies to help keep the chill off their heads after chemotherapy-related hair loss. Some seven years later, Love Your Melon now offers made-in-America beanies, and a new range of apparel and housewares, with 50 percent of the net profits going to a fund not-for-profits who provide therapy and programming for kids with cancer and their families.
